This week I was given the word 'Obscure' as a starting point to create different compositions: Abstract, textures, photographs, typographic patterns etc. Here are the some of my most successful interpretations with elements that I combined together. I was going for the mysterious, ambiguous, hidden, unknown idea. My photos inspired my influence on the other tasks.

Everything Happens for a Reason?

As a Summer Project, I decided to interview my 85 year old Grandad to find out in detail the things he saw and went through throughout his life. I found it really interesting the things he spoke to me about. It made me realise how some things do happen for a reason.
I created three editorial magazine spreads to tell the story. The orange groves were a significant part of the story as the smell is something that reminds him of the time.
To zoom in and read the article closer please view the Issuu publication I have added.

Pat Ryan's Boxing Gym

Unfortunately, the name of the gym had to be Furness Catholic Amateur Boxing Club so my last design had to be re-done. I couldn't get something to work as well, typographically, as my last design but here is the new logo. T-shirts and other merchandise coming soon!

The band, Horizons, had various different logos and designs in the past and approached me to design them a T-shirt. I decided that the first thing to do would be to come up with a logo that can become static to represent them in the future. They wanted it simple and 'classy' so I came up with a simple font and line striking through to represent the 'horizon line.' I then designed the T-shirts using photographs I had taken.

These T-shirts will go to print next week and I am excited to see the outcome. They were happy to pay me for my design and have asked me to do more work for them in the future which I am really looking forward to.

Love letter to design

As a summer project I designed this love letter to typography using fonts and words relating to type to create the text. I wasn't completely happy with how the poster turned out so have turned it into an Issuu publication too.

Typographic Music Inspired Posters

The Kinks - All Day & All of the Night

The Beatles - Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds

Logo Design

I was approached and commisioned by a boxing gym to design them a new logo with the only preference being a green colour.

I had fun with it and came up with a quirky yet sophisticated design.

Believe in Something

For a summer project I have created two isotypes/icons to represent things I believe in and I am passionate about.

I am really passionate about taking time out to travel and see the world or go on holiday. I created this isotype to represent this.

I created this isotype to represent 'sharing music' as it is something I am passionate about.

Holiday Receipt Book

Instead of boring you with 100+ photos from my holiday to Portugal thus summer, here is an Issuu publication of the receipts and tickets I collected whilst I was there.

Northern Shores Update

Really pleased with how the Northern Shores T-shirsts turned out when they went for print. They've sold out really fast so more will be printed soon. Looking forward to designing for them in the future.

Here are some photos of people wearing it out and about.
